  • 3GX upgrade to 3.1 or not?

Having just spotted on here that v4 seems to be in testing it reminded me that I'm still on v2.1 so I've started to consider an upgrade.

So far I only have a 3GX in my T-Rex 250 DFC, although I do also have one waiting for the right time to go into my 450 sport.

So, do I go straight from v2.1 to v3.1? Go to v3.0 first? I did read some issues with v3.1 with birds below 500 (namely 450) last night, but the likelihood that was just a handful of very vocal people out of thousands of happy campers.

I'm quite the believer in not updating without reason, but I do find it a bit precarious on take off sometimes so I'm thinking upgrading may be worth it

    Opinions welcome.

Hi, the 3gx will update straight to 3.1 mine was at 1.0 and it went to 3.1. I thought the 3.1 update was good but i am flying a 550 i have heard that the 3gx dose not fly as well on smaller models but if flew very well for me. By updating to 3.1 you may find take off better as it states it in the update notes. Here is a link to them ALIGN 3GX UPDATE MAIN PAGE

OK, so at least I don't HAVE to go to 3.0 unless I want to which is good. The posts I was reading on the 3.1 update did suggest that 3.0 was good as gold on the smaller heli's, so maybe that's the way to go anyway!

Anyone have experience of v3.1 on a 250?

For the 250 v3 is better than 3.1 but it'll be worth your while to wait for the v4 as this is going to be the most test version.
Today's outlook is fine for flying.

V3.1 is the most stable version on my 450 pro, V4 is just round the corner but may have some teething issues as usual.
I would say V3.1 is a good place to start as i've been running it for months now without issues on a stock 450 Pro V2 FBL setup with stock Align ESC/BEC
