  • 3GX tail twitching

Hi I have a twitch on the tail of my 700. Set everthing up as the instruction state set the end points on the tail .reboot the 3gx unit. Then when I move the stick for the tail just as it reaches full travel the tail blades come back a bit then return to full travel. If you get the stick just right it twitches back and forth. I noticed it while practicing funnels. Its as though the gyro has to much gain.

Go into your 3GX via the PC & adjust your "rudder locking gain" gain down to 45 & see if that solves the wag. See Dogcows 3GX V3.1 upgrade out? post from April this year.

      Hey.

This hiccup if you can call it that is known about and I have seen it myself on models I've setup. In flight you don't seem to suffer any ill effects from it, but you know it's there.

The rudder lock gain mentioned above it worth reducing from the stock 70% down to 45~50%, as this seems to work well especially with Align tail servos. Also I always advised 30 on the delay, but it seems Align have been listening and 30 is set straight away with V3.1.

Another consideration is what power setup do you have on the model to power the servos? V3.1 is very power hungry and the Align 2in1, BEC is not adequate enough. Go for 8amps+ continuous on any regulator setup, or straight LiFe with 2~3 servo connections into the radio system.

Thanks for the replies , Iam running life battery already and I have just checked all my helis and they all do it. I now think I have the gyro gain to high was set to 58% just dropped it down to 40%and the tail still holds ok. I have a DX18 and it seems that HHis above 0 and rate mode is -0 and below CJS
