  • Any good 3GX V3.1 settings out there for the align 550?

hi,ive just built my new align 550 DFC with 3GX V3.1 and I don't seem to have found that locked in feeling I had with my 500 3GX!!?? it feels loose and a bit sloopy when I push it hard on tic toc's etc... anyone got any good 3GX settings I could test? also what gyro gain are you people using with futaba 8fg? im running 43% and think may be it should be lower to make it feel tighter?? many thanks jason

      Hi Jason.

What I have found is that the 3GX V2.1 settings I have posted a while back still work very well on V3.1, something I found surprising, but the combination of V3.1 and my settings makes for a nice feeling model.

I will attach the .txt file you can load up within the PC software before writing them to your 3GX to try.

You don't mention where you have your gain pots set to on the 3GX, I find the aileron is good set to about the 1 o'clock position and the elevator set to the 12 o'clock.

With the tail gain, like the cyclics, if the tail is feeling loose you will need to up the gain to get that tighter feel.
What servo arm length are you running? If stock it's a little too long and puts the control ball too far out. I mount my tail servo on the underside of the tail servo mount and then this allows me to mount the control ball on top of the servo arm/wheel to move it in closer to centre.
I usually use one of the small round disks with the ball set to one of it's holes, which is normally around the next hole in from what Align recommend.

That is great advice regarding the tail servo Ian, shall try that myself.
What gain are you guys reading on cyclics in the 3gx software. When I updated to 3.1 I had my pots at 12o'clock but they figures are not 100 (centre) as I expected?
