  • 3gx V3 Swash plate tips to the right

Hi All. Looking for some help with my Trex 550 DFC. Flew helli last weekend with no problems, went out with it Saturday and on first spool up it tried to tip to the right. So had a closer look and noticed swash plate tipped to the right at about 30% throttle and when the throttle is returned to 0 swash plate goes back level. Took helli home and ran through set up procedure but still did the same. Installed V3.1 ran through set up again but still the same. Please can some one help. Rob

    Hey.

You've not got any trim in the system somewhere that's been added at the wrong point?
Seems strange how the model was ok and then shows signs of the swashplate tipping.

Perhaps it might be worth blanking your model memory and setting up again from a clean slate to eliminate any Tx based problems.

          Hey Buddy.

          You're welcome.
Most 3G/GX problems in the past like this have been caused by modifying an existing model memory to suit the new FBL setup and there's something in there causing a glitch in the setup. Starting from a fresh model memory cures this, assuming it is a problem like this, time will tell.

          Keep us posted.

            Hi All
Took your advice and have done a complete new TX setup and3GX setup flew tonight and problem solved. Not sure why it did this but worthremembering for the future.
As I am still fairly new to flybarless is the 3GX a goodunit or should I be looking to upgrade it?
Thanks to all with the help in sorting my problem out.

Na' keep it its a very good unit with pc software parameters that will adjust to suit all styles of flyer.
3gx can be little power hungry on the 500 size & smaller but should be fine on yours.

Got 3GX with 3.1 software flashed on my 450. Latest software has calmed down the 'nervous' servo syndrome (& probably much of the bec issues some pilots had with earlier software) I also have a 550 with V-bar & I think both systems are much alike now. Your heli will be fine on 3GX.
