Even more of a bargain now!

I have got all of the previous versions of the PC software still including the latest one so will be keen to see which ones it wont work with,i assume the latest one but of course not an issue.

I expect the older versions will get passed around quite readily for those that need it until i expect a very similar interface is openly written for it to run on.

Wonder if more clone versions of the V bar including the fullsize will spring up now also..

Fwiw in a separate thread i will do a video of it running off the pc software and a flight video also with any comments i find about it,been using V Bar since v3.6 so although my flying sucks big time i am sure i will easily see if the unit is lacking in any way from the V Bar.

No. That seems to be what the contentious issue with the fu-bars is. It seems to be a direct clone of the V-bar and uses its software that's why on a lot of forums, any link to the site where you can download the software has been removed.

Yes just download the pc software as you would if you had a V Bar and use that,i am not sure if the latest version from Mikado somehow blocks use for anything but genuine V Bars(i believe it might) but the older versions of the software are freely available,i am sure you know someone who could burn it onto a disc or email it etc.

Sounds like its compatible with any version up to 5.3.4.

Mines on its way,when it arrives i will post exactly what it will and wont work with along with any other info.

I checked with Hobbyking support and it is possible a remarkably similar bit of software to Mikados but of course different might be released for this in the near future.

Very keen to try the Fu Bar as on the American forums especially rcgroups V Bar owners who are trying this system say its identical in flight.

Sorry but i havn't read through all 20 pages..

I posted early that I ordered one. Well it arrived today and here are my findings just in case they havn't been covered yet.

1) very well made - internal soldering is great and neat - very tidy inside indeed.

2) the cpu and gyro chips have not only had the markings scratched of but have actually been cnc routed slightly to completely obliterate and markings and they have black epoxy around the pins of all 3 chips - and very neatly done i must add..

3) it's the pro verson 5.3.4 - with analog cyclic servo support and governor - yea!

4) missing the blutooth pins and the usb socket is a 3rd party scoket and not a normal usb - so you need the supplied usb dongle to program it, especially seeing the usb chip is in the dongle.

5) Have not mounted it yet but fired it up on the software and put it through a programming cycle - all cool...

Can't wait to try it!

overall impression so far (without flying it) - very impressed - seems like a good quality build... just wish the usb connector was on the side so i could 450pro mount it - lol

Build quailty wise - looks like it's going to be trustworthy on even an expensive heli..

I own 7 vbars and I flew a goblin 500 with fubar in it and I can tell you they are awesome. Can't wait until mine arrives. I will be ordering more to replace some ikons.

Turnigy FBL controller

Ok, I have just ordered this Turnigy FBL unit and it should arrive next week.
I'm confused, is it a clone of the beastx or Vbar? And can I just plug one sat in and use it as a receiver, the same as my AR7200BX? I don't use software to set up my BX so I'm was hoping to set the turnigy up the same way using the led menu system on the unit.

No you need a separate receiver, or if a small model you can use one sat with a special lead. Its a clone of the BeastX with V1 Firmware and works very well, but nothing like the AR7200

The Fubar's not really a true clone (unlike say the GV8000), because the hardware is different, but it's obviously running Vbars firmware.

As for the 3D-H, a guy at our club has one, and he says it's not a Beast X clone. He also flies Beast X units, and says the only similarity is the method used to program it and the case design.

I fly both and although not a 3D sky god I can chuck it about and it flys exactly the same, that was back to back with the BeastX. Where does he find it different

He took a Beast x off, tried it, and put the beast back. It's now destined for another of his many helicopters.

The thing is the firmware is definitely V1 so a world away from the V3 that most people are flying

FU-Bar... works with S-Bus and IceBlue Bluetooth to V-Bar application..... tested yesterday..... you need a plug that goes in the little USB style connector (I chopped up the one supplied)... Red = gnd, Black = servo voltage +, White = RXD, Green = TXD........

Mines on its way,i only paid for the $5 shipping option but its left Hong Kong so i expect Royal mail to be delivering it maybe end of week,early next week.

Well it's finally arrived, so what's in the box?




Looks pretty much the same set up as the beastx.
I will put it on the 500 this weekend and let you know how it performs, not that my flying will put any strain on it lol!
