All I meant was it's showing a lot of confidence in a new HK product, to use it on a big heli rather than a small one. Some things from HK are good and some not so good. The newer stuff does seem to be better than the older stuff. They do seem to be moving from just copying to improving.

I understood just the 600 is the ideal test bed. I can't feel small helis thats why I don't own one and at the end of the day, if it does what it's supposed to on the bench and then the first tentative hovers seem okay then my logic, it must work. Then the only way to test it is to fly it in my limited way
If the 600 went in as long as it's not endagering anyone then it's only a 600

There is a note on the HK site forum/comments on the Beastx clone that updating will kill it, as the software is not the same. Some vids on youtube I think.Flasher 450 Sport. Assan GA250 with 520 tail servo, MKS DS450 cyclic.

That is probably just a text string that says "V1.1 firmware". I'd get some more flying time with it first. The led layout is different from the BeastX 1.1. It might be the same software, but you really need an extended sumcheck to know. There are people reflashing escs and chargers, they will probably know. They usually save the old software first. Can you read and change the control parameters using the BeastX software?Flasher 450 Sport. Assan GA250 with 520 tail servo, MKS DS450 cyclic.

So do you think it is essentially the same as the ver 1 BeastX? I got my BeastX new with version 2 and I have never had any reason to change it as I am quite happy with the way it feels on the Trex 500.Originally posted by waveydavey View PostI'm still tempted though, the PC reports V1.1 firmware. Even though it's £30 worth I don't feel like toasting it
Is there something in the programming features that would indicate if it was the same as version 1 or 2 ?
In any case the bottom line is that if it works well as-is then it's an amazing value.Kasama, Minicopter, Henseleit, JR, Shape, Beam

Turnigy FBL controller
I'm going to get one for my 500 as I've taken off the beast x and put it on my new Trex 550 DFC.Originally posted by p4ddy View PostThat 3D-H is the one to get me flying a FBL heli. either the 450 or 250, around £50 to convert either one.
I have to say though, for all my flybar bashing posts, I can't believe how well the 550 flys with the beastx.
It must be due the the size of the helicopter, I can even do nice 'fly bar like' banked turns with it!

Anyone else have any info on the Hobbyking V bar copy, from what i have read on other forums looking thru the deleted posts(Originally posted by st200ol View PostMy mini FU Bar was delivered today and I can confirm it works with the VStabi software. I will set it up on a 450 and fly it tomorrow.
) is that it works very well and if i am correct, has pro functionality to a degree.
I am not really that interested in fiddling about with different fbl sytems anymore but i have to admit,if this one So blatently sticks two fingers up to Mikado i am very keen to try it out on something for the low price, thats worth 45usd posted to me for the humour alone
.
I am not worried about upgradability,i would never pay to upgrade from v5 on my v bars anyway as theres no point really once you get to that level,i would rather migrate to a different system with free upgrades if it came to it.Last edited by ChrisB; 26-05-2013, 08:14 AM.

Well, last week I had a mini Vbar on my 450 sport. This week I swapped it for the FU-bar. I loaded in the same config flie, every thing was bang on (servo centres, directions, travel limits on the tail etc.) I went through the whole setup to be sure.
I flew it yesterday (Saturday), and it was flawless from the first flight. I was gobsmacked. I'm not a brilliant pilot, but I can do fast backwards, loops, flips and rolls, and it handled everything brilliantly. I was very confidence inspiring.
I've had Beast X v3, mini Vbar (5.3 express) and now the fu-bar on that 450, and it was bang on. I never could get the beast feeling right on the 450, though it's epic on my 500.
So that's staying on the 450 sport, and I'm going to get something like a Warp or mini Protos on 6S for the mini-V to go on.Current fleet: Goblin Thunder Sport (700), Trex 700L, Logo 600, Specter 700, Henseleit TDR, V-Baaa control.
Next heli: I have pretty much everything I want. Maybe I'll upgrade some electronics or something.
