  • BeastX and 5 Blade Head

Hi, I'm looking for some advice on setting up a 5 blade head with a BeastX controller. I have a Thunder Tiger Mini Titan that I am putting in a Hughes 500 scale fuselage. I have mechanically setup the head and now need to setup the BeastX. The BeastX requires 6 degrees of cyclic pitch to be set at menu point J. Is 6 degrees the right value when using a 5 blade head? I have been assuming that I probably only need about 4 degrees of cyclic pitch and maybe 8 degrees of collective pitch in total. Has anyone got any experience of using a BeastX with a multi blade head?

    Thanks in advance.

I don't really know john, my mate had 600 in a md500 fuse and it flew without estab but it was a real handful. I would set the beast up as per instructions and see how it feels ;-)

Setup as per the manual still, so 6 degrees is needed. It is there to teach the beastx unit the cyclic geometry of your machine. You can alter the agility later.

I always thought you couldn't use a multi-head with the BeastX? Unless they've changed it. Folks were using the old Align 3G I remember for that stuff. That was a little while ago though.

I setup a 500 with a 4 blade Align head and a BeastX v3 a couple of months back, and it flew just fine. I set it on the most docile settings and it was perfect.

Oh. Well I stand corrected then

I am right in thinking that you never used to be able to do that, right? Unless I've dreamt it

Thanks guys, I'll set up as per the manual and report back. This'll be my first experience with a BeastX and first scale build so it should be interesting.
