Not directed to those people impressed by this... or any other 'demo' but have you ever wondered if they really are flying what they claim to be selling? You can't obviously see the gyro being flown whilst it's flying... for all I know, this could have a vbar or something else inside
Anyway -I'm off to bed!

the unit i've seen flying is in development by an align sponsored pilot
he test flies the updates to the software and gives align the feedback to what works/improved and what needs altering/doesn't work so well
in the comp machines he has his choice of unitHirobo Turbulence D3
a bunch of bls servo's and a 701 gyro

Probably market for 3gx is at saturation point, cue time for the super pro versionOriginally posted by tourerjim View PostWhats going in the 4GX that 3GX doesn't already have...? firmware that 3GX doesn't have enough memory to store.!!!
I still reckon theres a bit of German firmware hidden in there but with a much better job done of it than Hobbyking did
If its a sensible price,i wouldnt mind trying one out if im honest, out of curiosity.BUT only after hearing rave reviews about it,so moneys probably safe

The way I see it, it's a level playing field. All of these companies have access to the same components and a company as big as align have access to the same components at (probably) a cheaper price than a lot of their competitors (economy of scale), so their BOM could be considerably less than that of a competitor's FBL unit, so they're already in front. The next problem is the firmware. This is probably where the majority of the dev costs will be, but surely a company as big as Align can bring in a few top people to do this? I'm not saying it's going to happen, because they haven't managed to make a ground-breaking FBL unit yet, despite all the money they have behind them, which does surprise me, but maybe this one will surprise us? (but I won't hold my breath)

the other thing it could be is a rebranded item
look at os engines, savox servos, the tie up with futaba radios
no one will know until it hits a retail sale and then we get told by the ones that knowHirobo Turbulence D3
