Not strictly correct as the video shows, they will work, but it is doubtful that you get any benefit.

Some two strokes (diesel) have to have supercharges to make them work due to the engine layout.

finially, i have found something here that i can comment on!

i trained as an automotive engineer - alright, a grease monkey.
the turbo in question wouldnt really work too well for not only the port overlap reason as pointed out before (which could be very carefully engineered down to a lesser degree) but the horriffic turbo lag would make it totally unuseable anyway,
by the time the turbo has spun up and compressed the gas in the huge intake pipe the motor would of be bogging down due to the increased pitch on the rotors, thus slowing the exhaust gas and then less turbo pressure then less motor power and so it goes on.

small turbo, long intake pipe (large phlegm chamber) = monster lag

why not just stick nitrous oxide through it and have at least 30 second fun

Usually on opposed piston diesel engines such as Rooted lister and Deltic. as the engines have opposed piston they do not use crankcase compression in the same way, and need a supercharger to produce the compressed air to enter the cylinders.
Deltic engine production and development was moved to Colchester, where a turbo assisted supercharger was used to regain some of the power loss a supercharger takes.

          Roots Lister http://www.oldengine.org/members/die...terTS3/TS3.htm

          Deltic http://rowla.dyndns.org/justin/img/piston_deltic320.mpg
          Deltic 55022 - a potted history

          Hope this is clear.
When it finished the 18 cylinder, 36 piston engine was producing 4500hp at 2100rpm (i think that is right) with a Turbo Assisted Supercharger to reclaim some of the lost power that the supercharger used to drive it
