  • Upgrade to 30% Magnum?

I've been using 20% Magnum on my OS50 Hyper for the first 3 gallons and my flying is getting fairly energetic now.

I am going to buy a case of jice on payday and wonder if it's worth going for 30% as it a fair bit of fuel (A weeks worth!) and it's not that muxh more money.

Is it worth it or should i stick with 20% as i'm only looking at light 3D at this stage?

More power and better cooling for the engine (higher nitro content) - I suggest you go for it

There seems to be stock around at the main dealers... it is something else to worry about though!

oops... i realised after i hit send that i may have let the cat back into the pigeons!!

It's a good honest question though in the situation i'm in. not so worried about a brand debate but to weather there is a marked difference between 20 and 30% nitro content!

                Easy boys!!!!

Wildcat has had supply issues in the past too - it happens...
If you get a run on fuel that wasn't expected and the next shipment gets delayed - we get a shortage

I agree with the no debate though - Both fuels are excellent in my opinion.

Youve been around this forum long enough to know what is going to happen to this thread thats all I'm saying not digging at anyone just fuel is a rather emotion filled subject
I await the person who only buys model technics because he gets a full UK Gallon & not a undersize US Gallon etc etc
The only thing that is gonna stop it going that way is if some one posts a what Gyro should I get or what lipo for a trex 500 thread.
Me I'm gonna sit back now & eat my popcorn whilst having a Beer or three

Hi mark i've only ever used 30% in my helis, find they run so much better on it. But once you start using 30% they dont like being run on less nitro this is what ive found personally.

Hey at least I didn't point out that in all the time I've used wildcat never lost a bearing. but anyone using magnum its like every 6 months new bearings from I've read on here.

I mean that would really set them off if I mentioned that !

Cheers Leo.. i was told the same about the reversal hence the reluctance to go 30 unless i was to gain notable results.

P.s haven't forgotten you regarding getting together for some flying The weather has been rubbish... next weekend is on the cards if your about!

I have to say I did some tests going from 15% to 30% fuel (wildcat in my case) and noticed that the engine exhaust temp dropped by around 30-35c and also the model was a lot quieter even though there was a huge power increase.

Just got the last gallon of my 15% to burn then it's 30 all the way.
