cheers john, roughly how old/many gallons is that bearing, im just interested as your using a different fuel to me.

This engine got that bearing last winter been in there all year...then I put the engine in the 700 in the summer...I could not say how much fuel it has had through it...I am not happy how this feels now when turning the crank there is a (no piston fitted yet) notch when the piston would be at the bottom of the stroke...I felt this when I spun it over before taking it apart going to take the bearing back out and have a look....

I would replace it mate. Looks to rusty for my liking. Put a stainless 1 in of good quality and it should last for ages. The stainless 1 in my srs is around 18-24 months old now. And still clean.

What do you make of this then looks like the crank has been rubbing...only thing I can think of is a misaligned bearing causing it..crankshaft 001.jpg

Got it all good now after refitting bearing...phew thought I was in trouble there....sorry too hijack the thread with this......

I cannot put the engine back together I need a new conrod...I had this one in back too front and it rubbed badly on the back plate (caused the engine too run like a pig)...I turned it round but it is now too worn and rubbing on the crankshaft...O well just got too source one.....

Took the engine out last night and piston etc looks fine. There seems to be good compression but it is notchey at top & bottom of the stroke. I have contacted YS, so I will send it away to get checked out

Hi stu, not sure online mate, I use a company in the West Midlands called midland bearings. I get all my bearings grime there normally. Was hoping to get down there soon how desperate are you.
