  • Align 50 Muffler

Myself and a couple of guys in our club have T-Rex 600n's with Align Mufflers, and we are having a problem with noise they just seem to make the most evil high pitch noise something akin to an angry wasp on steroids and we are thinking we might have to ban them, otherwise we'll start getting noise complaints

Is there anything we can do about the noise? Do they get quieter as they bed in? Is there another muffler which has the power of the Align but is quieter?

Your thoughts and comments please guys.

    Thanks

    Andy

I have an align pipe waiting to be installed. I believe the noise is because the aluminium is quite a bit thinner than either the hatori or muscle pipe and therefore gives a much higher resonance.

Can only agree with the amount of noise,
When skatefreak started his 600N yesterday it sounded like the piston and liner were trying to get out via the exhaust

Was quite amusing when he spun it over, we were all looking at it and he was going, what is that noise?
            Should I start it?
            Is something wrong?

            seems to run well, but........jeeez
            That is one noisy exhaust

Which one would you say gives the best performance?

Do you have to mod the manifold on the 522 like you do the MP5 to stop it melting stuff?

              Thanks

The pipe is mint the noise isn't though

I was hoping someone would say they get quieter as they bed in or something, wishful thinking!

Looks like they might have to go then

I've used all three mufflers on my Trex600n - the Hatori is noisier than the MP5, with the Align being noiser again, but I can't say I've noticed it being terribly noisy. It does have a similar noise to the Hatori (rasp-wise) but it's not significantly louder for me?

Power wise, I rank them: Align then MP5 then Hatori - top to bottom.

                  Cheers,

ah my MP5 is on the Raptor and T-rex has the Hatori 522.

MP5 is queiter than the Hatori 522

I like the Hatori though overall

I only had to cut away the Raptor Canopy to make the MP5 fit other than that no issues with either pipe both excellent pipes.

I thought you had to file the bottom of the maifold on the MP5 when fitting to a 600N otherwise it rubbed on the bottom of the frame and burnt it

                          Cheers

How do you find the fit of the MP5 on the 600N Rob?

Does it clear the canopy ok? just needs a little filing off the bottom of the manifold to stop it burning the frame?

                              Cheers
