  • OS 105 HZR - So Far

Okay I've had now over a gallon through this engine its now at 1 1/4 on the main needle on 20% Rapicon and is running nice. Throughout today we slowly took in the main and middle and move the throttle to 95% maximum on idle 2 on a std .90 pipe.

Liking it thus far more poke than my old .90 and smooth, over the next few flights will look to open the throttle to max and then install the governor.
    Cheers

Awsome Stuart,I cant wait to get my hands on one aswell (well thts when i get a 90 nitro!!!!) i beleive engines like this are keeping nitro alive!!!

Im just loving my 600 even tho there is no power compared to a 600 e pro or summthing, its just very addictive and i cant wait for the ys-60 to come out

Took just over half a gallon of 15% Rapicon at the weekend. Running nice the .90 pipe feels fine enough though I'm tempted to try a back to back comparison which I might try next month. Took the back plate off yesterday and the bearing looks as new. Plenty of punch in the motor and I'll be installing the governor ready for the next flight.

small video of some auto's with a small amount of thrashing mainly as I was playing with the inverted auto's when the lads decided to film.....dunno if they thought I'd have a bump considering my quad bit the dust earlier in the day....lol

Well fitted the governor today - that was a royal pain.....

The regulator gets in the way so I had to mount the sensor on the other side but the crankcase is shaped differently on the otherside so I ended up have to use the dremel to modify the sensor bracket to get it to fit properly.

Note to TT maybe worth installing the magnet in the clutch bell in the next version :-) rather than the fan.....as nice as the fan is just removes an awkward bit of work if you have the 'R' version anyway of the OS105...

I had the option of converting it back to the Non-Regulated but I wanted to keep the regulator in place otherwise it would mean having to rework the pipework too......

Yeh its running nice surprising how much extra power it has on 15% - I've put in a slightly cooler plug and will try it without the gov on first then if fine i will switch on the gov. Unfortunately this weekend is out the question for me to fly so I'm praying for the this high pressure to stay on the UK for another weekend as a minimum.

From now till the end of Oct would be ideal though I suspect I'd be barking up the wrong tree.

The Hatori pipe is an excellent pipe. Possibly the best engineered pipe for the OS91... but it was tuned specifically for (and really well matched to) the 91. Something like the Curtis Youngblood MP6 pipe might be more suited to that. It's got a much larger initial expansion chamber than the Hatori... I have one I bought off here that I probably won't be using, I can post it over to you if you want to try it?
