OS32 wont start...

I dont know really what else to try...its an absolute pig.
Its been stored for a year..
cleaned, new fuel and tubes,
tried all settings with the needle valve and mixture valve
glo plug is OK - ive checked..
checked the horn etc...
it just turns and fuel trickles out the muffler

I had replaced the gasket on the heatsink head last week, would a lack of compression prevent it from firing?..

any help or suggestions would be appreciated..
Im close to binning it and getting somat else

lack of compression will result in it not starting definitely. If its been stored for so long a stuck piston ring is probably the most likely cause

pull it apart
check the bearings
free the ring off
give it a good clean
clean out the carb
re-assemble
and now check the exhaust
make sure the pressure nipple isn't blocked and the exhaust isn't blocked
and fit a new plug

i had an os32 that played up and it turned out to be the exhaust

Lack of compression I would say. Squirt a bit of fuel in the plug hole put plug in and see if it responds at all, not too much or it will just compress. If it shows a sign of firing then just dies again its a compression loss. I would think a new ring might be in order but to be honest a new OS50H or similar might be cheaper than messing around!

ok..been trying to reply with pics for last hour...might have cracked it now..

Based on your advice guys, ive bit the bullet and stripped it out (wasnt much else i could do anyway)..
I did make a post a little while ago about the liner having marks....so this is all stripped out and pic'd here for your opinion....
The piston has a fine groove but no ring - i can only presume its a non ringed SX-H as per the exploded diagram ive got...which worries me more that the liner prob is more a factor here?..
The liner i believe from googling, has a nickle type coating that is known to do this sort of thing...i cant find if it is actually a problem, but i suspect so?
please take a look at the pics and let me know your thoughts....the engine has not done a lot of work - its practically new - and i suspect this liner problem is a result of my poor storage practices....

the options are
a new non-ringed piston and liner
a new ringed piston and liner and ring
or another engine
