  • Sullvan Help please

I'm trying to remove the plank starter cup and fit my heli one way bearing drive to the Dynatron,
However having undone the nut that secures the cup the cup still won't come off. Are they threaded on or just a very tight push fit? I've even tried heating the cup but it still wont budge

Any help or advice welcome, I'm tearing my hair out at the moment.

It is threaded but a mother of a job to undo I ended up cuttting the cup off with a grinding wheel lengthways just to split the thread.
      Good luck xxxxxxxxxxx Rachel

        Tight, thats an understatement.

I must admit I did consider grinding it off but was a little concerned about damaging the shaft with the grinder but I'm thinking now you've suggested it, it may be the way to go.

Thank's Rach, if it goes pear shaped I'll blame you

don't cut all the way through it score it deeply on one side cut as deep as you dare on the other insert a chissel and wack it !!!! It will split leaving the shaft undamaged but wait a while and see if anyone has any better ideas .

sorry but Its the best I can do ;-)

Heat up the cup, think it's made of alloy so just use a small gas torch

Wrap the shaft with coarse emery then grip it with narrow nosed mole pliars. Heat the cup with a gas torch and then give the cup a tap to undo. Guarantee i'll work!
