  • 91hz hs..

As per title.. what are you running?

I was curious as I was looking at my gov settings and was about to set them the same as my 600.. which is N-1882, IU1-2024, IU2-2171... But reading something on RR... The HS for Idle up will be too much? Heres the what i read...

"15000 rpm is max power for the 91HZ. call it 15500 to bog into the powerband and that puts you at 1890 rpm on the head. 1920 HS is 15744 at the motor. 2000-2100 HS you'll be rebuilding it in short order as that is 16400-17220 on the motor. 16000 is max practical rpm"

Is it something to go by or not.. If it is, then if im running 1890 on IU2.. what do I run for the others

I run my 700 at 1,950 rpm (OS 91HZ-R). As stated in your quote, I think this puts the engine just above it's peak power band so when it bogs, it drops down into the power band and thus recovers the head speed quickly.

I also run 1950 in IU1 (OZ HZ / Trex 700) ~ although when it bogs it's well below the power band . Almost certainly due to my poor collective management, but I like to blame fuel / worn engine parts / the weather etc. etc.
