  • Unusual Failure

    Hi Everyone,

Was happily flying my OS91HZ-PS equipped Srimok when the revs rose rapidly and the engine quit. Autoed in safely and upon checking the regulator was on the floor (retained by the fuel tubing). The main needle was completely missing!!

Not sure if the engine vibration cause the needle to loosen but I must confess to never having checked the tightness of the needle in the engine casing - lesson learnt!.

Does anyone know the best place to get a replacment Main needle valve assy (Pt No OS 29181900) as its for the PS it seems to be a difficult one to locate. (are any of the other OS main needles compatible?)

Also in the exploded view the regulator is held onto the casing with washers either side of the reg. The washers are not listed as seperate parts, do you think that these would be supplied with the needle assembly?

    Cheers,

    Gav

I had one come loose on an OS37 a few years back but thankfully it didn't come right out. Nearly but not quite.

If you're sure on the part number then readyheli list that as 91 sz-hyper ..so standard 91 main needle valve system would fit?
I might even have one on the carb of the align 91 engine I fried last year?..

Am confident in the part number as this comes from the exploded diagram of the carb in the manual.

Cheers for the ready heli heads up, will have a look and see if the needles are compatible.(crosses fingers)
