  • Align and OS engine

You know thwy say that OS makes Align engines so does that mean that os engine parts would fit align engines lets say like the 55 and the 91

As far as I've seen they are identical but IC not my strongpoint so someone else would need to confirm...

Yes they are the same design so as long as you had a 55 or a 50 hyper all parts would be interchangeable.
Be more carefull tho with 90 as there are far more models to choose from ie hyper hz ps etc etc

              nearly-it's called ripmax....aka rip-me-off-to-the-max.

to answer your question the engines are identical except for the name and OS has a 2 year warranty, align, well, who knows!. with that said my last 2 os engines that had probs ripmax didn't want to know about them.

the future is bright-it isn't orange, it is YS.

              cheers

Yeh but it's a shame they arent as plug and play as OS Engines are mate

my os engines lately have been plug and pray mate.

i'm an OS fanboy but my 55 and latest 91's needing expensive parts out the box/little running AND ripmax not caring means next time i'm changing i'll be going YS.

i buy a LOT of OS engines and it is their loss-not mine.

                  cheers

Youve been unlucky then Paul I've never blown a piston scored a liner or broken a ring ever on any OS engine I've owned the worst thing is having to change engine bearings but thats just life I guess.
Over the last few weeks I've seen what a YS SRS 91 is like to own & to be honest it would have been kicked back to ys after the 1st of the 3 weekends it's been misbehaving.

i'm not a YS fan at all mate. but the spares prices from ripmeoff are just getting annoying now. engines i've had to buy ring and piston for now and nearly 80 quid each time is getting annoying-ESPECIALLY since they should have been covered under warranty.

sorry to stray off topic peeps.

                      cheers

Align had OS make their engines for them. Ring them up and buy 5,000 .50 hypers and you can have your name on them too!
There is no chinese copying going on.
In theory the align engines are all bundled with heli kits. but some kits are sold with the engines taken out and then the egines are for sale cheaper than OS.
Actually finding an align .50 hyper you can buy (rather than an OS) is not that easy, not in the UK anyway.
(but it you can its probably cheaper).

Similar with spares, like rings and pistons.
surely there is a market for some .50 hyper rings and pistons like the cut price copy short engines you can get for planks from justengines. A .50 hyper piston and ring is what, 65-75% of the cost of a new engine? Loads of engines about that need just those two bits to make them good.
