  • GP exhaust on YS91SR??

Has anybody used this pipe on a 91SR?? GP389113 : GP EXHAUST 'NITROPOWER 91' HELI TUNING MUFFLER (YS) (Midland Helicopters Ltd Exhausts_GP)

How does it compare to the Hatori's (sb19 or 946)?

Pretty sure thats the one Mike has on his, looks to be very good, but worth asking him.

Only £10 cheaper than the 946 though.

It is a German pipe hence the name GP German Performance . All reports i have heard have been very positive.

Reports are that it is an excellent pipe and provides extra power over the Hatori on a YS91.

      I haven't tested one though.

Midlands stock the range so it would be worth talking to Rob or Matt

Elite don't have any though.. And they've jumped up to £130 at Pro-build.
The SB19 has gone up to £160!! too. As if it wasn't expensive enough!

I've been using the GP Exhausts on all my 50 and 90 size nitro models for some time now. They deliver excellent power.
The only pipe I've seen deliver better power on the 50 size heli's is the Thunder Tiger 3D High Flow pipe.
As for the 90 size - well, I have just bought an Hatori so I can see what the difference might be there. I have to say I'm very impressed with the power from the GP though.
I plan on fitting the Hatori soon, probably next week hopefully.
            Cheers,
            Rob

Thanks Rob. Ignore the pm I just sent you
              I think I'll give one a try.
What's the difference between the long pipes and the shorter fatter ones?

                Hi Ian,
                No worries

According to the factory, there is no difference in power between the long and the short pipes.
                My findings differ slightly...
On the 90, I found the short pipe (Energy 91) to have a little bit more power (and I'm talking minor here) than the longer pipe (Nitropower 91). They both have pretty much the same noise level.

On the 50 size, the pipes deliver much the same performance, while the longer (Nitropower 55) is a bit quieter than the shorter (Energy 57) pipe. That said, I am using the shorter pipe on my Hyper 55 and it is stonking

                Cheers,
                Rob

If it's any good to you Ian I used one on my 55 and whilst it delivered great power it sounded awful but I did not notice this till I tried a powerboost which had the same power but sounded a lot smoother.

So I'd imagine the 90 to deliver great power too.
