  • ys91sr first time running

    hi guys,
took my avant out of the first time today and stuggled to get the engine running nice. seemed to be leaning as i was about to take it into a hover.
this is my 1st 90 engine so aint 100% sure on tuning with extra needles but i understand the logic behind them.
we found air in the small pipe from the pump to the carb which is not helping but we aint sure why its there. can it be caused by the pipe touching the casing.this pipe came already fitted to the engine.
im also going to check change the rest of the pipes incase im getting air is getting in else where.

also is the base settings it says in the book fine or have you found they are not suitable.

    thanks Jon

    Hi jon,

Ok one of the first things with running a YS is that the tank must be pressuring correctly. Simple check here is to start the engine and tilt the Heli forward so the fuel is covering the inlet where the air from the one way valve is entering the tank. (the top nipple on the tank)

Whislt doing this you should see air bubbles entering the tank. If there is none then stop the engine and clean the one way valve.

Have a go at that and let us no of it doesn't work. I've got another theory that will cure your problem.

Let us know how you get on
    Cheers Matt
