Looks interesting, thanks for posting Stuart!

Rossi have never been very popular in heli engines in the past, so it will be good to see if this new engine changes that in any way. It certainly looks (on paper) like it will be a powerful engine, I just hope they can make if fit into the standard 50 size engine mounts.

They might also need to look at that price too as the 50 engine market leader (OS) is about half that...

      Cheers,

I had a Rossi 60 in a Freya not so long ago. It was a bag of spanners that was very difficult to tune and required a lot of fiddling with the idle needle to get it to even run at all. The engine was quite an old model and I flung it out on eBay quite soon after getting it, so it's not fair to compare it to these new ones, but historically, Rossi plane engines always had the same running issues as the heli engine I had. They would run fine flat out on a tuned pipe with loads more beans than their competitors, but they didn't do throttling very well, and they were always very rough around the edges - the casings always looked like they were machined by hand with a lump-hammer and a chisel. It was always the carbs that let them down. Very solidly built though.

Will be interesting to see how these shape up.

They did a 50 heli engine not so long ago which had the mounting holes at non-standard spacing. so to get it to fit it any 50 size heli required re-drilling out either the front or back holes on each side. Has this been addressed?

Whats with all the roughness in the sleeves?
            Is that an optical illusion?
If it isn't i don't think thats gonna run too well if at all!

I'm hoping that the pictures of the sleeve are from a used engine that swallowed a brick and washed it down with a few gallons of hard set concrete...
