  • os c-spec

im after the perry pump and a fuel pressure regulator for a c-spec if any one know of one. I had two c-specs when i was getting my vibe together but i kept the c-spec std as it was brand spanking new, but kept a viper head in case i should need it but from everything ive read recently i need the pump and reg on the engine to make it smooth. So if anyones got any spare or knows of any lemme know and theres a drink in t for ya for info and obviously dollars for bits! (Will have to send cheque or cash on collection tho!)

Kev the perry pumps can be a real pain..I would stick wth the 3 needle carb TBH.

You would be better off with an OMI modified carb with regulator and run it on crankcase pressure, I've got this setup on my 91SZ-H and it works very well. They are still available new although not cheap, I was lucky enough to score mine on Ebay.

forget using the pump, the 3 needle carb is the way to go
i've had the pumps fail on all but 1 of my os91 pumped engines

Ok then i get the picture dump the pump and go crankcase pressure. Righto then anyone got a plumbing diagram to plumb this in then, will i need a check valve?? ive already got a 3 pipe header tank so a return pipe will be a non issue. and i take it the viper head is a must??

with the omi, you either send your carb off to get the cline fitted and carb modded or buy a pre modified carb from cline.

it works very similarly to the YS engines. you have a nipple on the backplate with a bit of fuel tube with the check valve in it. the check valve is different to the YS ones. this then pressurises the fuel tank and the carb/reg does the rest.

its a lot of money tho. might be cheaper to sell the c-spec and buy a SY91 SR i bought mine from fast lads, it was a little over 200ukp.

cheers ade have priced the omi carb and its as much as a new hz!!!!!! granted the engine will be a lot better than the hz but still i cant aford that!!! next question would the regulator off recent 91 hypers have a similar effect?? cos i may have access to one. And as we speak im working out the plumbing to convert to crankcase pressure. Had the engine running again just tobed it in some more and by crikey its smooth, i mean silky smooth and ive not touched needles yet!!!

Sorry to hijack your thread, but I would just like to add that I've got a brand new unused OS .90 SX-h C-spec pumped engine and a spare brand new perry pump if anyone is interested

It might be different, but the YS check valve works fine on a OS engine with a Cline reg.

My mate's got an OS engine (not sure which one) and Cline at our club, and his check valve went wrong last weekend. I lent him the one from my YS91SR to try and the engine ran faultlessly.
