what ever you do if this is new or under one gallon old what ever you do don't set the high needle to one turn
you need to take time spec as it hot out run main least between 1 3/4 and 2 turns out and mid at one and don't load engine just gentle flying with not much pitch and not to high head speed either
dont touch the mid yet even once it's had a few tanks
after about 6 tanks running rich then slowly start to lean the high
dont touch the mid till you have the high sorted
the main thing to watch for is heat this is so so important as too hot it will kill the engine
but I'll need slight heat to run it in
its a bit of cat and mouse but don't rush things no matter what
too rich won't really hurt
too lean the engine will be toast and your then need new engine or least piston ring and liner
TAKE YOUR TIME
It's used and ran in - I bought it from Maj on here. Had a bout 2-3 gallons through it I believe.
Mines regulated I run the hatori pipe on opti 20% and both needles are around 1 and 4 clicks. I have telemetry and it runs around 80-90degrees c more with heavy Tick-Tocks/loading.
Had a mess around with the needles on my G4 today just to see how it performed at some others settings. Mid is at 3/4 turn as I know what thats like so didn't touch that but started with 1 1/2 out on the high and it was for me personally almost unflyable and would choke up and die at a hint of giving it the beans although if you're a sport flyer it would have been fine most likely. Leaned it out and ended up at 3/4 turn out on the high and it was about right there and a tad on the rich side but thats fine in this heat. I know my other 105 will be the same as but its strange how different peoples settings are.
I suppose that a lot of this depends on what your idea of tune is and how hard you can fly.
climate difference whether you are in the North/South/East/West of the country and you height above sea level all have an impact to the way the engine will run.
Happy Flying! Thanks - Dave
