  • Fuel Tube T Piece

    Hi all,

Has anyone got a link to the T piece I need? I want a quick, easy way to relieve the backplate pressure from the tank after each flight and I know many use a T piece and removable bung.

    Thanks!
    Harry

I use the dubro ally t's but take a look at aquarium T's for air pumps, I use them too.

    Here you go

    Nylon Fuel Fittings SUL486

Or, the Align fuel filter and remove the filter, can't find the Dubro ones

Thanks! Would they grip strong enough? Are they ridged like the header tank connectors etc?

I have a spare align filter. Could I just take the filter out and use that?

More than strong enough mate, the other little tip is to cut 1-2mm of fuel tube from the end, force some pointed pliers into them and open out. Pass the fuel tube through and you've got a securing ring of tube. They're not normally ridged although you can get them like that, I keep fish too. Yes, just take the filter out and you're sorted

Yeah that's what I do - use needle nose pliers to stretch about 6mm of tubing over the end of other bit. No way that sucker is coming loose!

Thanks that's perfect but I don't want to pay £7 ha. I'll try the align filter option first. I'm just next to a halfords top so I'll pick up a t piece from there also.

Typical, Halfords didn't have the 3mm piece in stock. But I found an old filter. Here it is fitted. Any recommendations for a better bung than a m3x8 bolt with a washer (for grip)?

One of these will do the job (not the perfect T piece, but as said earlier, if you take out the filter it will act as such, and also give you the retainer part! Or, a couple of these will keep you in clean filters for a while, give you a perfect filtered refuelling connection if put between the carb and fuel tank and also the spare retainer for easy pressure release with no risk of losing the piece when refuelling!

Cheers dude! I should have one of those plastic bung things kicking about somwhere, I'll see if I can find it. Failing that, an old plastic ball link might suffice aswell...
