  • OS 50 Hyper intermittently cuts out

I have recently built a new machine, the engine run fine prior but I rebuilt it anyway as it had seen some fuel. I replaced the front and rear bearing, piston, piston ring and cylinder so the engine is almost like new or should say a friend kindly rebulit it for me .

    GY601 & 9251
    Futaba S9255
    r149 receiver
Duralite regulator 5.1 with 3400mah lipo

The engine starts first time every time. The problem is the engine cuts intermittently, there were some very small air bubbles in the line between the header tank and engine which have now disappeared after changing the filter. I have adjusted the idle & normal mixtures but to no affect and it will cut after 2-minutes or 10 minutes, in flight , land take out and dies etc.

I am not sure whether the RL30 would cause this as I havent bypassed it yet, the collective management on the RL has been disabled for now. I have also changed the plug which made no difference. There is plenty of power and it has no problem with positive and negitive collective.

After adjusting the mixtures the engine run a liitle hot I made the normal adjustments and it was soon at a reasonable tempature and to date it has not killed any plugs.

Another pilot tends to think its a air leakage problem, I will be replacing all the fuel line to eliminate any leakage. The header tank appear to be full after each flight. I am at a loss at the moment, I wonder if anyone else had a simliar problem or might have some ideas of what I can chnage or check.

An air leak to my knowledge would just make the engine run lean wherever your setting the needles. I take it your running rich to re-run the engine in now that youve rebuilt? If not it you could be running it hot to the point its cutting out. Failing that i too would say look at the clunk lines in both tanks.

I am running at 1 and 1/2 turns out and I can touch the engine for a few seconds after each flight.
