          Its not so much the DIY aspect for me, its the tried and tested one - if Kev can log a few hundred hours on his bearing I'll happily use it

          As Dave mentioned though, we know people that have tried it and couldn't make it work...

              I think personally its an impregnated Bronze alloy.So u may not be far off Gaz. But Daves suggestion of Inkanel hold some weight, as on paper that too has the properties required.

                Far to much thinking for me. Lol
                Will stick with the supply of stainless I get. For the price I don't mind changing once every couple of years plus it lets me have a look at the general condition of the rest of the engine.
