  • My first commercial demo video!

Here it is - after weeks of learning and fiddling I have finally got my head around the Adobe editing suite enough to put a small test video together of my footage. It's for my new company Aerial Imaging Services ( www.aerialimagingservices.co.uk - That's the website, but there's nothing on it just yet ) It's literally just a demo done from test footage at a local golf course. The company we did it for is Isle of Man Golf Tours. Once the grass is greener we will go back and do a proper session with more holes covered etc. I recently qualified with my BNUC-S and this is the first thing we did.

    Please be gentle!

Check out our Facebook & Twitter pages ( Aerial Imaging Services ) *shameless plug!*

Nice work Dan but a little bit of clannad or pipe music to go with the video would be nice, something soothing & peaceful to match those lovely serene scenes.

I like that, looks very smooth. I assume this is for a virtual tour of the course? You could try get fancy and overlay more some info ie Hole number, Par, distance, course record, interesting facts. maybe incorporate some ground level shots and nearby tourist attraction shots if its marketing travel to the area. Whats your plan for sound?

I really like the idea of editing a few of my videos so searched for "Adobe editing suite" but could not find anything that looks like video editing... is it a free product or a business product can you send a link?

Best of luck with your new venture

Gah! I only just managed to piece that together, didn't even think about music. The finished one will be done with all the music and everything. This is just a test

Thanks! Yeah, they are promoting a number of courses around the Island so they are looking to show off the signature holes. This is one of them up in Ramsey. We have another one to do in Castletown that is right on the coast by the sea. That should be a great shoot. It's Adobe Premiere Pro I used.

If you haven't already, install magic lantern on your 550 to get some extra function...

Also, do you mind me asking if you ran that clip through the stabiliser in premier?

Are you going to film parts of the tt races? That would be cool.

I was looking at that. Will have a crack at that next week.

Sections were put through AE. I think about 40 seconds in total. The cause was me flying too fast causing the gimbal to shake on acceleration. Lesson learnt on that one. The rest is just us

The gimbal is getting there. It's an AV200 which has its own set of problems.

Nice work dude. I tried Magic Lantern and hated it but to each their own, it has some neat features for sure but it screwed up my run and gun workflow too much. I need to give it another go really.

                        Looks so smooth, well impressed.

                          My first commercial demo video!

Nigel - we are indeed in talks to do some work for the TT

Paul - using the RSGS system on the gimbal. It's a bit of a pig to be honest. I wrote an email to PH outlining all the issues, one point I made was that maybe they shouldn't have rushed out a product that wasn't ready. They actually agreed! There is a new firmware on its way apparently, as well as some defined and proper instructions. I'm not holding my breath

Looking good mate. Bearing in mind the issues you have had with the gimbal stabilisation, the result is better than I had expected.

There are a few twitches in the vid particularly when flying with a bit of speed. Is the video pre or post additional stabilisation?

Are you using any vibration dampening?

I see you have Vimeo Pro - are you happy with the set up with them? I am about to set this up as well to deliver a direct video stream to our web site so I'd be interested to know how you are getting on with the service from Vimeo.

This aerial image lark is not for the faint hearted - you need patience and deep pockets!

                            Cheers,
                            Simon

Im using the hoverfly and its just as bad as the ph - it amazes me that companies can make system that stabilise entire heli's yet a camera gimbal is a problem.... Either way your clip is very smooth and it took us a lot longer to get that sort of smoothness.
