Just found this out myself so i thought i would share because it transforms this little quad...
Generally when you try to piro ( i dont think thats the correct term when we talking about a quad but hey) the little X4 you will find it tends to drop in the direction of your command. Almost as if your also putting an aileron command in. Generally it makes the helicopter harder to handle and much more concentration is needed.
I have discovered a way to make it piro literally on the spot. This improves the handling of the helicopter night and day and you will find circuits a sinch in your livingroom.
This is how you do it... Try it i bet your surprised...
Firstly power your helicopter in the normal way. TX first then plug in the battery. Wait until it links then set all of your trims to centre. So thats cyclics and rudder. You'll know they are centred because it beeps rather different to the sound it makes when your adjusting. The throttle one on the far left of the handset just set that to 0 which is all the way down.
Next... With the throttle all the way down, press the left thumbstick down (just the same as you would push the right stick down to go into high rates to do your flips etc). With the stick pressed down move it also to the right (bottom right). Make sure you dont go too far to the right as youll find because of the curvature of the gimball the heli will begin to throttle up (we dont want this). Hold the throttle stick pressed down and to the right then also wiggle the cyclic stick from left to right a few times until you see the blue eyes on the front of the X4 blink.
After this set your trims again so that the X4 hovers with little effort again. No need to recycle the power! Now try your rudder and look what happens! I was pleasantly surprised. It makes flyin the quad far easier and circuits in the living room are now effortless. Cant wait to do some flips with it after discovering this.
From what i am led to believe this process resets the gyros. Youve probably red in the manual that landing for 3 seconds will help the gyros stabalise. Ive found it helped a little but doing the above makes this already awsome little quad even better again.
Have fun!
