  • Cheap "toy" quad's with built-in camera. Any good?

    Hey folks,

Having seen a few "toy" quads at some markets/exhibitions recently, I thought I'd ask on here to see if anyone had any experience with them and if they were any good for messing around with?

Saw one recently for about £40 - came with 2.4Ghz radio gear and onboard 720p camera - just add micro-sd and good to go. Have completely forgotten the make though...

So - are these any good? Any that you'd recommend?
I'm struggling to come up with xmas present ideas for myself, budget of around £50 from relatives and thought this might be quite a good idea? Probably fly it around indoors and in the garden etc...

    Thanks
    Paul

I just got a hubsan x4 quad of amazon and am well happy. No camera but solid as a rock. Coupled with some nano tech 300mah 35c packs she flys great and she flips. Best of all it was only £28 poasted.

Warning: the nano techs come wired backwards

It clearly states that it is not a toy :-) I have the hubsan x4 led and its great fun indoors even better when you use the expert mode :-).dont get one with a camera as the viewing angle and picture quality is crap.

                    M'eh - for £45 odd it's a toy in my book
I like the camera version - not expecting too much quality but I still want to have a play anyways :-)

Here is a video I shot with my Hubsan X4 H107C with built in camera. It's slightly bigger than a cellphone.

Also, check out my YouTube channel for more toy quads with camera footage. I have been doing cameras on toy quads (whether built in or not) for almost a year now.
