The boards are with my production people, we expect a production slot in the next 10 days. We had a small issue with one of the components (minor led) but that has been fixed however it put a little dent in the schedule which put things back a few days.

In addition, we are looking at the new GUI and we want to make sure everything works as it should. All things being well I hope to have a release day by the end of this month. Keep the faith..... they are very nearly here!

      Cheers,
      Simon

              Any progress?

              Theres competition coming...

Freefly needs to fill their orders quickly or they might be handing back some deposits.

Good progress now - first bunch of boards are going out to pre-registered customers next week. I hope to have the first main batch available on my web site 1st week July. Info pages on my web site are here: Brushless Products

I completed a quick test flight a few days ago - take a look here:

                    Looking good!

Following this thread with great interest.

Out of curiosity, which legs are you using on the 550?

                        Hi all,

The boards are now available on my site - they were supposed to go live last week but I wanted to wait and re-flash them and test again with the latest firmware (v2.1).

All testing has been completed and each board has been individually checked and works well on the v2.1 GUI (latest and greatest).

The first batch is now on my web site - I don't expect them to hang about so if you are in the market for one and want to know more then click on this link: Alex Mos board

The direct link to the shop is here: Gimbals & Controllers, Desire RC

Thanks for being patient but I really wanted to get this right.

                        Cheers,
                        Simon

genuine question: what's wrong with just using a gyro or even a fbl controller for the multiple axis' movement?

No way near as smooth or accurate, Where as a servo uses gears it means it has notches essentially in the movement. A Brushless gimbal on the other hand is direct drive and therefore is much smoother movement.

The controller board takes the gyro and accelerometer information and through an intelligent PID controller provides the control for two (pitch and roll) brushless motors. it doesn't work with servos. an FBL is designed specifically for flight control and that gives you outputs that drive servos not brushless motors.
