The best price I have seen in the UK is about £350-360, It should work out to around £250 in the US though it would most likely get caught by customs if it gets shipped to here.

There are some one's available that appear to be factory rejects maybe from places such as foxtechfpv etc, The verdict is still out on these and the Genuine GoPro 3's have had quite a lot of problems so not sure what the dodgy ones would be like :/

I got wind of a deal late last year with Evans Cycles where they had forgotten that a special 30% discount had also been applied to go pro's - I heard about it with about 1 hour left on the deal, so pressed the buy button expecting a negative response. To my surprise it was honoured so I got my Black reduced from £359 to £269 - a whopping £90 discount yummy yummy - things like that don't happen for me! Well chuffed but it took until now to get hold of it.

Another friend of mine has his already and it just needed the latest update from the GP site which was a doddle and now he's filming with no issues at all. I think there may have been some problems with the very early editions but those (I hope) have been resolved - we shall see.

The thing I'm most interested in it the 1080p at 60fps which should result in some epic footage from such a tiny camera. The other thing is that its smaller and lighter than earlier versions which is another bonus for airborne footage.

I hope to get some footage with it soon.

              Cheers,
              Simon

I got a GoPro Black off Father Christmas via FL. It is a superb bit of kit!!! Really pleased with it. Using it for mountain biking, skiing and will eventually try it on my helis.

However, I've been experimenting with time lapse videos and notice a fault with CineForm Studio (the free video editing software from the GoPro website). If you use 12M pictures, CineForm works fine, but if you use 7M pictures on the GoPro, CineForm crashes when trying to render. I've tried both mine and my son's GoPro and two different computers (MacBook Pros) and it crashes if 7M pictures are used. I've just Googled the problem and came across this:-
Cineform won't process time lapsed pics

I've just tried resizing the video as suggested and now it works fine!!!

I've found the app that GoPro have done form iPhone / iPad and Android is really good for lining up shots, especially if you're using it as a headcam, as it allows you to do a preview of what the camera is seeing. It's also much easier to configure the settings that working your way through the menus.
One thing to note, with the wireless turned on and filming at high resolution / frame rate I've found the battery life isn't brilliant, so either get the car charger or have a laptop handy to recharge the GoPro. You'll also fill up an SD card really quickly, I've got a 16GB uSD card and that's got 12 x 5 min flights recorded, most of those were at 720p 24fps, which ended up with recordings around 1GB, if you go to the higher resolutions then the video size could be huge

Yep. The iphone app is superb with the Black edition! I agree that the battery life isn't brilliant - I've ordered one of these and should be here tomorrow:-

I have a 32GB SD card and uses about 18GB of data using the time lapse function with 12M pictures with one every second for an hour!

Here is a time lapse video taken last Wednesday night on our weekly mountain bike ride out with two of my mates. I tried 7M pictures at one every 0.5 second. It's a video of a section of the ride that we do. It is a bit blurry but not bad quality despite being at night. The last bit of the video is where we go down a dark cycle track - it is quite clear to say it's pitch dark and I have only a Hope R4 light on my bike! I need to try a few more settings! I think the blurriness is due to the long exposure time due to the darkness?

Here's my first hero3 video, trip to the flying field, edited in final cut pro to make it time lapse / sped up, cut my 15 minute journey into just under 2 minutes LOL

Wow. That's much better using normal video and speeding it up than actually using the time lapse video on the GoPro itself. Can you use After Effects and if so do you need a plugin for AE to speed it up? I know there's one called Twixtor for slow motion in AE.

Just ripped that from YouTube at 1080 and watched it. Really good Martin.

I have no idea, never used after effects only imovie and now final cut pro for the mac, in FCP you just select if you want to speed up or slow down the footage it was that easy.
