An alternative to the Hero 4 Black, for half the price.

My Hero 3 died on my the other day.
So I was on the look out for something new.
This was released this month, so I picked one up.
I'm very impressed.

Hey Lee - do you know if it can do narrow FOV with 1080p@60FPS? I've got a Cube+ which can do the 1080p/60FPS bit, but only with a wide FOV.

Thanks Lee. Can I be really cheeky!? Could you record a short outside vid in 1080p/60FPS in narrow view? I want to know if it'll shoot close enough for it to be useful for heli vids ... I can do, but at the moment its ****ing with rain and blowing 100kph
Here is a video from yesterday. 1080 60fps on wide though.
Friday looks ok, so I can try then with my Goblin.

Tried to get out for you this evening.
But typical, sunny all day while at work, and as soon as I got to the field, it rained
The forecast is crap for at least a week
But I will try to get some footage ASAP.

Got out between rain storms.
It was very over cast day, and drizzling, so not the best time for quality footage.
I tried to get the two videos on together for easy comparison, but I think it lost a lot in the video quality.
The main thing is the field of view shows a big difference.

Thanks Lee! I really do appreciate you doing that! It looks like the video quality suffers a little in the narrow FOV - I wonder if it is achieved by just using a smaller part of the sensor rather than using optics.

The quality is not a fair comparison in my video.
The side by side cropped a lot off the videos.
In the Originals, you are hard pressed to see the difference.
