not necessarily Andy, you might want to use the gopro remote to turn on/off, shutter etc this still requires Wifi - but its the wifi video that seems to flood 2.4ghz and causing issues not the gopro remote which only sends short messages ...

for the gopro3+ there seems to be some issue that it somehow still floods and you should shield it Shielding a GoPro's EMI / RF Noise - Hovership

Hi Sev, Where did you find the info on the 3+ still flooding. I was about to buy one, thought I should finally dip my toe into the gopro world.

The Magicam does not come with a memory card.

I bought a AEE Magicam off them.

Arrived well under the 45 days I expected by only paying the basic postage.

But the bloody screen would not work well so complained. To be fair their complaints system does work well and they kept me informed of progress even though I had to fork out £11 to get the camera back to thier UK base.

They agreed the claim and I got a new camera a couple of days ago.I intend to see if I can get a deal on something to recoup the £11 as I really feel that is not down to me.

So...8/10. Good service, good communication, complicated returns procedure and £11 down.

I been looking at gopro for a while but not 100% sold on the things, I dont know much about them so cant really comment only that everyone seems to use them.
So far I been happy with my drift stealth which has a little screen to set up and view what your taking or have taken, also a very handy remote which works well upto about 20 feet.
I see Maplin has a (dare I say gopro clone) at much less £££ but dont know about pro's & con's so maybe someone here can shine a light and convert me

I was very sceptical of the whole gopro thing myself. I got a cheap one from Argos and can honestly say it was worth every penny.

I think the Argos one is the same as Maplin, it's the same price i'm sure.
There must be very many happy gopro owners but I think they stand too proud on many things they are used on. Ok for us as its tucked away so maybe it has weight advantages?
My Drift has been ok for many uses so far but for £119 Argos/Maplin/Amazon you cant go wrong as long as you dont mind a camera that sticks out like a sore thumb :-)
