Black HERO3+ launched (Bugger!)

Just see that GoPro has launched the HERO3+ Black just 4 weeks after I bought my HERO3 Black; that just sucks....!

well thats what I thought, then I reviewed the "real" facts ... seems like they introduced a new 1080p SuperView with 80,30,24 FPS 720p SuperView only with 100, 60 or 58FPS ... apart from that I can identify any other "changes" really ... so in fact its just a wider view - which in itself from my perspective doesnt help me much, dont like their wide view anyway ...

New lens and improved battery life seem to be the only other significant changes.

Personally I wouldn't be all that worried if I'd just bought a 3, the changes are nice, but not earth shattering.

I didn't see too many "extras" except it is smaller, 30% better battery life and faster wireless function (the lag using the iPhone app is absolutely dire on the H3B), as you say the super wide for me is not needed, I get wide enough for my use already, and by using the fisheye correction in the Studio2 that works really well. Not such a p*ss off as I originally thought, but I would probably have waited and bought the H3B+ anyway (Fashion victim...).

Web site says camera is 20% smaller and lighter, yet strangely for instance, a floaty with back door says it fits all versions which would imply the housing is the same size, but I would agree the comparison picture would seem to indicate a smaller housing at the very least. Maybe the camera is thinner?

There are a few reviews up already, most comment on the camera itself being exactly the same size, but the waterproof housing has been shrunk to a much tighter fit.

4K is still worthless at the current frame-rate though.

Decent report, and one good thing I read is, it seems you can run the new higher capacity battery as used in the H3B+ in the H3B, that will be good as I need to get another battery to take away on hols.

Update for Case #800033 - "Can I use the new H3B+ battery in my one month old! H3B without issue, giving me longer battery life?"

Well you can get the wasabi, are bigger and they give you a wall charger, but I'm not sure if the new battery last longer because of the capacity or because of the new software

Yes the wasaby I think are 1150 mah and still from the test seem they just give few minutes more
