I tend to agree, but at £359 vs £328 from Amazon that just isn't going to happen as Amazon have equally amazing customer support in my experience.

The problem is that I can also buy in the USA from similar quality retailers (including the US side of Fast Lad) for around £265, so it becomes a bit of a challenge to justify buying over here sadly.

Is it worth contacting Fast Lads to see if they would price match a genuine "in stock" UK website like Amazon?

I would if that was sufficient to get my order, but even Amazon is too expensive compared to what I can pay just ordering from the USA end of Fast Lad.

I move between the UK and the USA every month so it is just as easy for me to buy there as here.

It isn't always cheaper in the USA but in this case it seems to be the case.

          Fair enough!

The GoPro Black is certainly a nice bit of kit with superb video quality!

You just had to go there

On the one hand I do worry that come November there will be an updated GoPro with useable 4K options, on the otherhand the current one does everything I need and more, so as long as I can get it for a decent price I'm not going to worry about the next model.

I've also been looking around for these & cheapest I've found to date is the uk camera store at £320
The problem I'd have with buying in the states is not getting an easy ride if it were to go wrong ie you'd need to go back to America to drop it off for warranty work then go back again to pick it up once fixed.

Yes but at £359 they'll be keeping it
The posts about any good deals on it, everyone's selling at £359 all over the uk were looking for that special price nearer £300 mate.

Ring them up and have a chat. They were selling them fast at Weston Park, and these are NOT grey imports.

I can understand that of course. For me it is not a problem though as I make that trip at least once a month and I have a residential address over there as well as my office so deliveries are not a problem.

That said, if I could get the price below £300 I'd certainly contemplate buying in the UK.

Another factor is that recently GoPro USA have been giving away $100 discount vouchers at various events, if I can get one of those it makes it a total no brainer as I'd be getting the Black model for £200.

I'm back there end of next week so I'll see what I can find in the 'Independence Day' sales.

Don't forget though that ordering from USA you are almost certainly guaranteed to get stung for custom charges. Anything coming from the states get import duty and then the post office takes a slice. I've ordered from USA before and I always get caught. I ordered a plane kit, now understand this plane kit comes in a cardboard tube and consists of strips of balsa wood and a rolled up plan, and got stung for £22 on a $70 kit. I've done this twice and got stung both times.

I'd add expected costs to the price you can get it for and I'll bet there's not much in it. Get it from fast lads and at least you can talk to someone friendly if the worst happens.

I will be needing one of these very shortly. So what's the consensus if we want to buy in the UK??

Dont just take the Advertised price as the final word, give them a call and chat to them about your needs, you may be suprised.

Wings and Wheels is on this weekend, go see the traders who sell them, I know RCheliguru will be there and have stock of the cameras as well as the accessories.
