Thanks, for a Chinese supplier that is good, but can go as low as £260-270.

I know I can buy in the USA for around £264 and I'll probably do that rather than order from China.

Anyone seen any good UK deals?

Best genuine UK price I've found is £328 (Amazon)

There's one with a few extras for sale on the BMFA site.

The BMFA Classified Ads Service / GO PRO 3 BLACK EDITION + EXTRAS.

Also returns information tells you to contact them so they can provide 'an address local to you' for returns, never a good sign.

They also will not supply 'tax free' even to eligible customers so it sounds like they are not actually VAT registered and there is no company name stated on the terms & conditions or a company of that name registered at Companies House

These guys are getting much better at hiding than they used to be

Edit: Gets worse the more you dig on this one, there is a link on the 'Contact Us' page to another site called 'Kamkorda.com' same website construction, but different name.

Bit more digging and you'll find a whole series of related websites and companies all named confusingly similarly to genuine companies and all with reports of grey imports, some even using fake VAT numbers ...

I wouldn't blame anyone for being taken in by these guys though, the deception is very neatly done.

Minefield is the truth for sure, I wouldn't blame anyone for ordering from that site without a clue what they were going to actually get, the guys behind it have learned a lot over the years it seems.

Looks like I'm stuck between genuine UK at £328 and genuine USA for around £265.

I did ask the eBay seller for details on origin, but I'm not hopeful as eBay seems to be entirely a grey market for this sort of thing these days,

Thanks for the help everyone, near as I can tell there are no deals in the UK for actual genuine UK stock priced below Amazon.

There are a huge number of ebay sellers offering 'UK Stock' which actually translates to 'stock that is in the UK' which is rather different

Looks like I'll be buying in the USA at this rate.

I bought two last Christmas off Fast Lads. One was faulty and was exchanged by Andy with no messing around. You might pay over the odds, but I'd rather have piece of mind that I'm buying off a reputable shop.

Warranty mostly, you'll be unable to obtain manufacturer support in the UK if it turns out that your camera was intended to be sold in Asia for example.

Now if you trust the retailer you buy from to still be around when you need them and to handle the faults then it may not matter all that much, but if you buy from an unknown ebay seller and it goes wrong you could be left with nowhere to go for help or a bill for the work ...
