Its a pan-european set of directives, which cannot possibly mean conforming with what is 'legal' to use in every country, or products would never be able to carry the mark.

Again, agreed, but they do have to confirm to the EU standards that are applicable for such equipment.

What I don't know is if it is legal for such high power tx devices to be used anywhere in Europe without a license, but that is probably irrelevant as long as they meet the emission standards that apply to such equipment when used by a licensed operator.

this happened to apple with the initial release of the airport extreme which wasnt regulated in regards of 2.4ghz bands as required for the uk if I am not mistaken ...

That was probably France, until recently they did not allow civilian use of the same bands as the USA and most of the rest of Europe.

I imagine you are trying to figure out if the problem you see are just normal for the equipment or if they would be resolved by increasing power?

no I was speaking about wireless g/b networks which a few bands in the uk are solely for military use

it doesnt mate - what helped on mine though, spiral antennas and putting them pointing to the ground rather than up - didnt cure it completely though - on what are you using it? pics?

Yes, I got that, but the USA and UK have been aligned for some time on 2.4 g/b, it was France that was different, however for this particular product I think it was actually the support of 5GHz wide-band on n that was the issue. Either way I get the point.

yup - looking at your setup could it be that the Y (tail) rotor deflects some of the signal? have you tried it in all orientations when this appears - or let me ask, what do you consider "bad" picture? as you are taking the live feed off the gopro I guess so it should be fairly good itself ...

The quality is spot on near by 100-150 foot, but glitches occasionally whilst flying further away(I dont fly it above me) - having not done this sort of thing before I wondered if it was the norm, or whether I just needed a more powerful video tx as I am using cloverleaf antennas which should be ok for the range I am flying.
