  • Jr and naza-lite setup help needed.

    Hi all.
Was wondering if any of you guy's have set up naza lite return to home using a jr radio? If so could you point me in the right direction with how to set it.I've got my aux 2 switch to do the man att gps and am i right in thinking that i have to use another switch to activate failsafe /return to home in someway or another.
I'm new to quads and using a computer to set up my model is doing my old head in,need a simple to understand run down if anyone has experience with jr.i'm using a orange 7 ch rx (supports failsafe)if that helps.
    Regards dd2701.

Take a look at this, http://www.rcheliaddict.co.uk/dji/10...um-ar7610.html

Although not your radio it explains what you need as far as functions are concerned and I'm pretty sure I found a YouTube video setting up with a dsx9 as well. The most important thing to understand is you don't have to use the recommended Aux channels for functions like return home and orientation control, you can use channels of your choice as long as you you obviously have used the correct channels for basic flight control, ie aileron elevator and rudder must be the correct ones or you simply won't be able to fly it.

Cheers for that.v useful. i seem to have it all calibrated for flight ok but from other vids ive seen on youtube it looks like the 3 position switch is overided by another two position switch to enter rth.I have failsafe working when i switch off radio(says so on status bar on naza assist and yellow leds flashing correctly)but someone told me this would only get mc to act on failsafe settings not actually do a rth.or even worse possibly crash.complicated or what!do i trust what the screen says or try to programme another switch to do the rth bit.I'm a bit of a technophobe which is not helping at the moment lol.

Guessing your using a dsx9 like me, I use as follows:

3 position flight mode switch for, normal mode, Atti mode & full GPS Atti mode.

3 position flap switch for orientation modes,

throttle hold for fail safe mode which you have to setup in the Naza software to do what you want. Ie: just land, climb 20mtrs return home and land.

The he most important thing about return home fail safe is be sure to bind the dsx9 at 50% throttle so when your Tx signal is lost it doesn't switch off all the motors on the quad. They don't auto too well you know.

I'm actually using a jr radio dsx11 but from what i can gather they are pretty much the same as spektrum to set up,only prob is the manual is written in double dutch.I wasn't planning on using intelligent orientation ,my head has enough trouble turning back around after head on hovering with my heli, but definately want to use rth with the climb included.i did use my travel adjust to bind initially, then moved settings back to 100% after binding(didn't think to bind at half throttle)much better idea! my main sticking point is how to set say the gear switch to do the rth bit.I think that i have to mix the gear as master and my aux2 as slave but have no idea what values to use then:- ie offset etc.I'm sure i can't be the only jr user who is scratching their heads but all vids out there are futaba or spektrum, even the firm i bought it off (although great to deal with)only use those and couldn't help with jraaaaaaaah!

Argh why didn't you say earlier you had a dsx11. I have a simple solution...........
just swap it with me for a dsx9, problem solved. Simples Lol

from what I know of the 11 you can actually assign pretty much any switch to your required channel and yes you are quite correct that you'll have to creat a mix for your chosen channel to your chosen switch for the fail safe to work. As far as mix percentages go, I simply ran the naza software and fiddled until I got the desired affect.
            Good luck

Cheers for your help, one of my flying buddys has a pcm9 which is very similar to program so he's being press-ganged into learning naza and we'll give it a go,at least you cleared up the things i had no idea about.so thanks again for your help.Perhaps when i sort it i'll post a step by step guide for others who will maybe encounter the same lack off knowledge as me! Hopefully it'll save someone a lot of time and effort in trying to sort settings.
