  • DJI Flamewheel F550 Naza M V2

    Hi all,

I am looking to move into the Multi rotor av/ap side of the hobby and was looking at getting an F550 with Naza V2.
I currently have a trex 450 pro dfc so am no stranger to flying heli's.
Is the F550 a good place to start or should I look to the F450 first with M Lite?
I will be wanting to put a gimbal and gopro onto the heli realatively soon.

    Cheers

    Ross

If you can afford the F550 then go for it.

It will fly exactly the same as the F450 with some extra lifting capacity and the ability to land even if a motor/esc should fail.

Don't forget to add the cost for extra lipos, the F550 will lift and probably require bigger capacity batteries too.

money isn't really the issue. What batteries do you recommend? is it worth going for high end ones like Optipower or ThunderPower? I use opti's at the moment so know they are good.
but a couple of friends are using turnigy and the nano batteries which are obviously cheaper but are they as good?

Hi Ross...the 550 is a great bit of kit....you will struggle to get a better deal from this outlet...although out of stock atm(he shifts a few) he does get them in quite quick.I am using turnigy 30c 4s 5000 and graupner 10x5 elektro props.Im not keen on the white legs as they can get caught up in the grass and stuck in mud so went with DJI F550 Landing Gear Set [F550-LG] - £65.99 : AeroXcraft, Manufacturers and Suppliers of Multirotor helicopters

On my DJI 550 I use Turnigy 5000mah 25C and I have 6 that I bought well over a year ago and absolutely cant fault them.

Cheers Nick, I did look at that outlet and a few others and I think I will start with the basic heli at £350, I've still got to get the batteries and receiver for it.
I will definitely be getting the upgraded legs as I too don't rate the basic legs much, especially if I am running £500 worth of gear underneath

shameless indeed and a very nice package for the price.
sadly I cannot go that far and for me one of the joys of the hobby is setting up the Heli myself.
I put my Trex 450 pro dfc together and loved it.
