I would like to go. I need to look up the nearest train station and then see what's involved in getting to the field etc.

Hi Trillian, nearest station is Market Harborough. Ground is not too far and I may be able to give you a lift as I pass through. Just let me know what time you would be arriving!

Forecast looks better for Saturday with temp at 14 but cloudy! Hope it will be a great day

Weeeeeeell, I just had a look on 'the trainline' website and it says the return ticket would be ...... wait for it ..... ÂŁ98.80 ! No friggin way!.

I'll investigate this further because that's double what I paid to go all the way to Lincoln for the RCHA flyin last year!

---------update, OK I checked the East Midlands site and it's way less, like massively less, The Trainline is smoking weed or something :-)

I'll be missing this event due to heading off to Corfu for the 3rd 3D Championship Spring Break

              Cheers,

I'm not sure what time things get going over there but realistically I'm guessing I would be able to get there something like 10.30 / 11.00 ish. I'll find out when they start and everything but it's just not practical for me to get there too much earlier.

No worries! let me know when you have a time and I can pop back to pick you up. The station is only a short drive from the field (15 mins).

I'm deciding whether to just take the Trex 500 as I wouldn't think I'll do much flying and the less weight to carry the better.

Now the forecast shows rain in the afternoon :-( I hate the uncertainty as it's a bit of a trip for me. We shall see.

These days I mainly use the Met Office. Just checked it again a while ago and now it just shows cloudy but no rain. I think we're at a point where it's too variable for them to be able to lock in a prediction. I have found the met office to be more accurate for the places I fly than XC but that may not be true of Gumley, so fingers crossed for a pleasant surprise.
