  • BMFA helicopter B test

please can someone tell me how many examiners are required for a helicopter B test ??
Are there any circumstances where a single (or lone) examiner can oversee the test ?
Can the test be conducted outside of the UK ?

    Thanks

Always two for any test and they both have to be heli qualified - I know as a pile took their plank tests last year at out club but they couldn't do helis as only the one examiner was qualified.

Its not always two - it depends on who is examining you.

If its a chief examiner, they can examine you on your own.

If its a club examiner, then there needs to be a second examiner.

I dont know of any reason it couldnt be conducted outside of the UK, provided the necessary cover was in place.

Ok my mistake, but we have a chief and club examiner and no way would he allow the B-test on helis, maybe he was plank only qualified.

a heli chief examiner can take a B heli on his own (in his area out of area he will need another examiner with him)
he can take a fixed wing A even if he doesn't have a fixed wing examiners qualification

with a normal club examiner you need two to do a B
one heli one fixed wing is ok

overseas you would need two examiners as a chief would be out of his area
