Airborne Video Cam recomendations ??

Anyone want to recommend a good light weight self focusing camers ? I'm playing with planks at the moment and fancy aMutliples Moviestar and am looking for a suitable vidcam.

I have and use the Flycam one and for the money it isnt too bad for showing your flight vids to friends..:)

Takes a larger SD card so more time scale can be used too.

I had a look at some of the suggestions on here and came up with a number of other options as well..... the One I am most impressed with is the AIPTEK MPVP at 6oz (180g) it's not as light as some of the others BUT it will do 96 mins of video with a 2Gb SD card at 640x480 30 frames per second. The 180g is easily carried by the Multiplex Cargo or MovieStar. (Both have a carry capacity out of the box of 500g.) although I have to confess that the FLYCAM v2 with Swivel head and pre-mounted servo horn of the camera head is very very tempting and weighs a helluva lot less.

I have a flycam2 on pre-order. It hasnt turned up yet but I am looking forward to it :)

Just bought one as well..... should make for an interesting comparison....When they arrive I'll slap it onto the Moviestar and go for a fly..... if it's any cop I'll mount it on me heli as well

Just ordered the Flycamone V2 camera from the above retailer so will compare the 2 side by side, I have a friend who wants my original V1 so that will get moved on nicely..:D

Me too ..ordered my flycamone2 on the 13th.. got a e-mail from them on saturday, saying that they expect them to be in stock by the end of the week and dispatch them in 2-3 days of recieving them

Can't wait to get it.. already bought a 4 gig sd card ready for it

I thought 4Gb were SDHC card, it may not be compatible with the flycamone2 as when I emailed the flycamone guys and there reply was that the limit is a 2GB SD card.

As far as I know any SD card over 2GB is a SDHC and may not work in SD devices, like some SD devices don't like MMC cards.

You are certainly correct in your quotation nutz, I hope the V2 takes the larger cards but doubt it very much, Its surprising how much you can get on 2Gb though..:)

anyway only paid 4 quid for card delivered and it comes with a card reader so can always use it as as a backup device for my piccy's
