  • Power on bounce

ok so following a minor problem with the tail servo connector coming loose on my T-Rex 700 V-Bar v4.0, (not a problem I got it in time and have purchased a hot glue gun and will flight test this weekend and then recheck wiring and try and neaten it up! )

I've performed the firmware update on my V-bar v4.0 having first saved the settings for the heli then reloading them after the flash was done.

OK so Ive turned the agility down to 40. but my problem is when I power the vbar on and wait the servos center etc pretty much immediatly then after several seconds I only get one bounce. Is this correct?

Is it not supposed to bounce twice? Or has this been changed in the update? The new manual just says the swash will twitch........

    Thanks

    James

    Hey Dashik

    1 bounce = initialised

    2 bounce = trim flight

It bounces once for normal initialisation, two bounces if on full pitch and trim flight activated when powering up.

It only bounces twice if you have the Trim flight setup to run

          Too slow, like Chris said

Indeed you did, so I spent £10.79 at Homebase got a low melt hot glue gun and 24 sticks of glue. You think that will be enough?

I'll sort it all out tommorrow

Got this reply on the V-Bar forums while you guys were posting same here :-

One bounce = normal Flight mode
Two bounces = trim flight mode

              Everything is ok ...

              regards (EN) / Gruss (DE)

Thanks anyway I appreciate the responses.

I think describing a lazy 8 and a bit of hovering as competing would be stretching it a bit don't you?

I have one wooden spoon from Kinross I dont need another from 3DS

Hey Anjki i think you misunderstood what Dashik said. He was commenting on his own ability and not the ability of others or the validity of the competition.

                        Hi,

Did you read the whole of my post? The last competition I entered I got the wooden spoon, so what does that tell you about my heli flying ability?

I don't think my entry is justified as it is as my flying is so limited.

                        Just for clarity then.....

Personally I did not consider my current attempts at a lazy 8 or my nose in hovering are upto much and that to describe them as competing is being generous in the extreme.

I feel fully qualified to comment on MY OWN abilitys.

However if you interprit my post otherwise then thats your mistake. I in no way implied or otherwise intended any slight to any competitor of any level at the 3DS.

The point of 3DS is to encourage new flyers at ALL levels, not put them off.

So why not sign up, come along and do what I intend to do,

                        HAVE SOME FUN!

Grass-Roots is about Inclusion not exclusion

The whole idea behind Grass-Roots from the outset is to give your average Sports flyer the oppurtunity to participate at a level suitable to their flying ability.

Far to many folk think competition flying is only for the gifted few. Not true. In fact Grass-Roots was developed specifically to address this miss-nomer.

Not only do we consider Grass-Roots as a stepping stone into Competition flying but it also provides a progressive system that any pilot can use to improve there piloting ability.

Grass-Roots is about Inclusion, we want you to come along have a bit of fun and use the oppurtunity to learn new skills and better understand whats involved amongst a group of like-minded individuals. The majority already realise the will never be the next Stevie G or Duncan O Thats not what its about. Its about involvement, enjoyment, comaradery (spelling LOL) as well as development of your flying skills.

I like to think R/C Helicopter flying is different from other sports in that we are prepared to share and support flyers on an equal basis regardless of there ability just as this forum openly welcomes new members

So anyone reading this you are more than welcome to participate. Entry details can be found via the advertising banner at the top of the RCHeliaddicts page and I guarantee you will receive our full support just as I did from the RCHA, SAA, AHA and 3D Championships.

                              Thanks Brian.
