Well I managed to hover my Gaui 255 (bought off my mate Nick) for 2 packs on Sun 14th (was wobbly hovering and quite alot of movement ) and I can honnestly say I think I'm hooked...

The only damage I did was to put it down rather more heavily than I'd have liked and managed to break the front right skid arm....now I know what people mean when they say the landing gear is pants...

Also managed a quick fly yesterday lunch at work but decided to try it over soft ground that's just been cleared by my works. I got it a bit higher than I've done before as I was doing ok and drifted it into the sight line with the sun...the resulting "white spot" in my vision caused by looking into the sun made subsequent flying rather more "interesting" thatn I'd have liked! On landing the tail fin sunk into the ground and the tail blades touched the ground and the grub screw that holds them onto the shaft has come loose. Still quite encouraged, once I am more confident at flying and can move it around I'll fly on the tarmac parking lot.

Have just bought a DX6i off a mate (cheers again Nick!!) and going to use that as my Futaba 6X 50th is a bit basic for Heli flying as only a 3 point basic throttle curve and has a ratchety throttle stick. Will keep that for plank flying I think. Hopefully I can dumb down the heli enough to make learning a bit easier

Hopefully will set the DX6i up this week so I can fly this weekend in the garden..
