I began the day by installing the HS-65MG servos I bought from Mark_T. They all work superbly - cheers Mark!
I ended up having to run a file around the frame servo holes to get them to fit, but that was only a two minute job.

I stripped and rebuilt the tail gearbox too. Most of the screws were threadlocked, but there were one or two that weren't, so the job was worth doing.
Having done that I fitted the tail boom - again an easy job

Having then installed the head I though it was time to set-up the servos with my DX7. There wasn't too much radio setup to do - I reversed the pitch servo and set the elevator and pitch to negative numbers in the swash mix.
I have had to use a fair bit of subtrim on the aileron, elevator and pitch channels. Try as I might I couldn't get the arms to line up mechanically. I also heard the pitch servo binding when giving full right aileron when the swash was at its lowest point. On investigation it turned out that the servo arm was hitting the main gear so I've had to trim it down quite considerably. I also found that the ball links supplied with the kit for the servo arms had insufficient length on the threaded portion to get a nut on the back. As it turned out I had a set of longer ball links in my spares box, so I've used those.

So I've now levelled the swash by eye, set up the head and have zero pitch at mid stick with the head links aligned as they should be.
She's beginning to look like a heli now eh?
