Do I set up my DX6i with a flight paramet profile before or after binding to a model?

Should say parameters in heading but can't seem to edit it.

I'm sure the answer will be in the manual somewhere but I haven't got it in front of me so asking here

Do I set up my DX6i with a flight paramet profile before or after binding to a model?

I would bind before setup and then rebind after setup is complete to check all failsafes are set before test flying, then check them all again

I'm other words, select heli mode and swash type, bind, setup and rebind at failsafes

You just go into the setup menu and enter the specified parameters. It makes no difference (at least to entering the values) if the model is bound or not. As Baldie says though, make sure you get your get your failsafe setup correctly - which is (off the top of my head) determined by the position of the throttle during the binding process.
