DX18QQ Really like it

Having received my new DX18QQ on Tuesday, i got to say i'm very impressed with this tx, not only does it look good, feels good, but some of the features are great, the main things that come to mind are the following,
1) Each switch has a letter and you can assign any switch, any function, ie i can have my idle set to any switch i like and same as my TH.
2) 2 different timer switches, so say when i go above 50% my 5 minute timer activates, but if i say fly my logo in idle 1 i can fly it for 6.5mins as its a lower headspeed, so i then flick any other assigned switch and a new 1.5min timer starts.
3) the Buddy system on the DX18 in general, i need to do more researching on this but what i have read so far its great, maybe someone with more knowledge can explain in more detail.
4) i can set different expo and D/R on different assigned switches, and as i use the D/R on my vbars this should come in handy for me at least.

Are these features unique to the QQ, or are they on the regular DX18 too ?

I've got a QQ - and I relly liek it too 8)

However, I seem to have found a few (minor-ish) bugs.

Eg if you set up 5 FMs (HN123), you don't seem to be able to set up D/R and Expo on mode 3. The user-interface is there to do it (you select one of the D/R Expo curves for the FM) but it doesn't actually apply it.

Has anyone else run into this ? Is it there on the non-QQ DX18 model ?

[You can work around with programmable mixes - but it ties up quite a few.]

[A follow on is that you can get caught out by the D/R Expo not being applied in other FMs. D/R Expo curves 0123 seem tied to FM HN12 . So selecting (eg) curve 0 for all FMs won't do what it should.]

I suspect that's a fair description of the comms protocol. Also, it looks like enabling X+ puts you into 22ms frame rate.

However, I don't care. My helis don't need more than 7 channels (so far...); and there are some really useful features on the DX18QQ. Not least of which is the feel. I like(d) the DX8, but the gimbals were a bit of a lottery. Some were good; some were a bit wrong. (I pulled one set apart to tidy them up.)

Much as I baulked at the ~£500 price tag; I so far reckon the DX18QQ is good value.
