DX8 v DX7S ??

I'm all set for an afternoons flying and my old DX7 gives up the ghost

It's served me well but is pretty battered and a replacement is well overdue. I only wish I'd written down the settings for the 7 models that were in there.

Anyway I'm buying a new tranny. I'm sticking with Spektrum because I like the kit and because of their after sales service.

An obvious choice would be a DX8. However I have used a clubmates DXS (not se) and it looks the same, feels the same etc. It also has the SD card facility (which I'm now missing, LOL).

Other than the fact it's 7 channel and not 8, and cheaper, what are the other differences?

Also anyone any tips on who is doing the best deals?

I have both. My DX7s is my backup radio, and I use it mostly for simming. It's very similar to the DX8, but two things I don't like are that it only has one idle up mode and no backlight screen. Also you cannot transfer model memories between DX7s and DX8

PS: Shameless plug, actually I have been thinking of selling my dx7s, so PM if you are interested. It's in great working order, but one of the flap switches (not used for heli flying) is broken.
