I strongly suggest you go back and read the whole of the first post before shouting offOriginally posted by Gixxer View PostWhat are these 'glitches' you speak of?
I've just installed the 2.06 firmware on both of my DX8 Transmitters and neither of them appear to have any 'glitches'... Is there something I should know about before taking one of my bigger birds into the air... or did you just make that up?
As for being a hater, yup, guilty as charged. When you've had a confirmed failure (3 in fact, and horizon paid for the destroyed model incidentally), and seen numerous from club members, you'll perhaps understand why I cannot understand why people continue to use something that clearly has issues, 2 years on from release! Every firmware update has more quirks and glitches, and you guys are entrusting both your money and more importantly, safety to this thing. I suppose the best attitude as Brian said above, if it aint broke, don't fix it. I.e. dont instantly perform every update; let someone else do the beta testing first. I stopped performing instant updates with everything after my DX8 was getting worst, and then seeing people update their castle ESC's only to find out they were shutting down mid flight.

im not saying there hasnt been problems with DX8, And I understand the problems that jamiem has had and I would have done exactly the same as him.
But from my personal experience with the DX8 it has been faultless, I have sent it back twice because I was recomended by Horizon and mine was one of the first batch and still using 2.1 software. I never upgrade any sort of Beta testing, I prefer it done by other as I have many thousands worth of Models that I prefer to crash, rather than an update that may not have been tested properly. wether it be castle spektrum who ever.Santander Factory Team

As I said... I've updated both of my DX8s without an issue... tell me what 'glitches' have been introduced with this new firmware...?Last edited by Gixxer; 26-09-2012, 08:43 PM.

ok seems like the guy did perform the model update method anyway, though he had modified the models manually on 2.05 already ...Originally posted by r4nd0m View Postsome interesting finds on the german forum,
here are the settings on the vbar from the DX8 on 2.05

here after the upgrade to 2.06

I think it definitely makes sense to verify your models after the upgrade ... directly after the upgrade without any changes
if you did the same and still have the "old" file on an SD card you can delete the model, import the old data and when being asked to upgrade, select cancel ... this doesnt apply to any models that werent re-configured on 2.05 ...
Hope this clarifies it ...Sev

Correct... the ''model update' only needs to be applied to models which were 'reversed' but not already converted to/fixed in the 2.05 version of the software.Originally posted by r4nd0m View Postok seems like the guy did perform the model update method anyway, though he had modified the models manually on 2.05 already ...

I'm running 8 helis with 2.06 on two DX8 transmitters and all of them are spot-on, with no 'glitches'... despite what some Spektrum haters would like you to believe.

When did 2.05 come out?
And 2.06?
I found the problem when I was checking my Vbar settings after updating my dx8 Sunday to 2.05 so now I need to update again and see if it sorts my models back out.
Waste of time again
Does worry me all these updatesCheers Paul
