IMO the mechanical feedback when you hit the limit is mandatory. If you limit it in SW, it will be very confusing, once you go out-of-range, for example in autorotations.

You need to be able to trigger the vibrating alarm at either (programmed) extreme...

Maybe not everyones solution to long stick travel, but screwing out or in the stick grip does the same thing as I see it.
